So says the tortoise, but I was really hoping to write more like the hare.
Every weeknight, after Monkey's down for the night, I am dedicating at least an hour to my writing. Now, so far, I've been pretty good about this. Other than a little hitch last weekend that threw off my schedule, I'm back on track, and though I'm managing at least 1500 words a night, I really wish I were going faster.
I don't think I've ever contemplated this much as I'm writing. I've reverted back to writing by the seat of my pants with the basic plot in mind after a short stint at trying to plot an entire piece. The words are flowing once more without any tooth pulling, but the output is pretty slow. I know, I shouldn't be discouraged, but I've always run slightly faster than this and it's disconcerting. My mind only wants to do one chapter a night and then checks out.
I'm going to try pushing past this wall...Tomorrow. Good night for now. :)

All the best Hetal ! Slow and steady do win the race :)
ReplyDeleteI have a "happy cup cake" award for you at my blog ! Do check it out :)
Glad to see you're back at it! I'm more the pragmatic type, so whatever works, however it works!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I gave you an award on my blog. It's probably a duplicate :), but enjoy! I like to pop over here to see how you're doing!
Aww thanks both of you lovely ladies. Because I've cut back my online time, it seems that responding to anything, anywhere has suffered the biggest hit. I appreciate the accolades from both of you and pass on the writing sparkles. Hope they help you keep (or get) on track as they've lately assisted me. :)
ReplyDeleteHetal, I too have been busy with writing and have limited my browsing time on the web as well!
ReplyDeleteJust curious, how do you keep track of your story if you don't plot? do you find that you have gone down a 'wrong path' in the previous chapter and have to rewrite again?
Reason I'm asking, for the first time I'm writing without any planning and I find a certain freedom of writing in that i.e. not worrying about deviating from the plan. Mostly I'm going by my characters actions.
